Our model is a based on a regular retention fee for on-going services that enable continuous authorization for veterinary clinic premise status, veterinary pharmaceutical and supply ordering, and the legal authorization for use of those in shelter and community animals.
We offer tiered pricing based on the level of veterinary involvement needed, the number of needed written authorizations and permits, and the amount of staff training and support required. Pricing reflects the professional time, legal compliance responsibilities, administrative work, and liability involved in serving as a Veterinarian of Record, premise permit and DEA program management.

What We Offer
Veterinarian of Record services are established through an official professional partnership that allows your shelter or organization to carry out on-going services. Our fee structure reflects a weekly retention fee that covers VOR services and on-going authorizations, licensure, and premise permit management, which is generally billed on a monthly basis. Additional special services, outside of those that are on-going, may be arranged separately and are billed as-needed on an hourly basis.
We also periodically review shelter needs and priorities so we can adjust the level of service and pricing as those needs change over time

Example: Shelters, rescues, and foster-based organizations looking for basic medical care programs. This tier may include legal access and written authorization to provide intake processes, vaccination protocols, parasite prevention and treatment, diarrhea and respiratory illness care, behavior and pain management plans, and trauma triage treatment. DEA program may be added to this Tier 1 level.

Example: This tier supports teams equipped to provide more comprehensive medical care, including basic medical care, as well as laboratory diagnostics, radiology, surgical care, infectious disease management, and wound care.
This level is often appropriate for shelters with licensed veterinary technicians and trained assistants providing care under veterinary direction. DEA program may be added to this Tier 2 level.

Example: This tier supports VORR authorizations for organizations with onsite or offsite surgery programs, community outreach services, volunteer-based programs, telemedicine-supported care, and medical teams equipped to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care.
This level may include all basic and comprehensive medical care authorizations, as well as advanced protocol training, DEA-licensed controlled drug program support and authorized use program implementation, medical staff recruitment and retention, forensic and rescue training, and other onsite specialized services.
This level of shelter partnership often involves customized authorizations and support designed to meet the unique needs of the shelter and the community it serves.

Specialized services are available in some service areas, based on state law, local need, and veterinarian availability. We charge an hourly rate for these services and can provide custom plans for special requests.
Examples include forensic/necropsy work, legal testimony and case preparation, onsite medical and surgery services, foster and volunteer program VORR authorizations, telemedicine program VORRs, travel and attendance for special events, and more.

DEA License holding and controlled drug management program set-up, oversight, authorized use and reporting services available. This service can be added onto Tier 1 and Tier 2 client services and is included in the Tier 3 client service level. Cost of each DEA license (government entities are exempt) is the responsibility of the shelter or organization.
Our Process
1-Plan with Purpose
We start with an initial meeting to get to know you, review your shelter structure and medical needs, and determine how VOR services will help you expand access to care.
2-Establish a VCPR
We will establish a legal VCPR (veterinary client patient relationship) with your organization through familiarity with your operations and establishment of physical and virtual check-ins to the extent needed to maintain a healthy VORR and meet legal compliance.
3-Scope of Services, Proposal, & MOU
Our veterinarians will review what we’ve learned about your shelter, how you function and veterinary services you would like to provide, the skillset and resources you have or need to implement, and will provide you with a proposal of prioritized protocols and VOR strategy, and a legal MOU agreement.
We review your shelter tier pricing and general timelines for implementation and answer questions about the VOR relationship, premise permit, and DEA program management process.
4-VORR Established & Written Authorizations Provided
Once we have signed a MOU (contract) with your organization, we will plan our meetings times, additional onsite visits as needed, establish document sharing and begin prioritizing process authorizations and training for implementation.
